100% Wool Hand Embroidered Shawl

This is a soft shawl, wrap, muffler, scarf or stole with hand embroidered paisley, floral pattern on hand woven pure soft, wool material. It can also be used as a sofa throw as it is double layered. I bought this shawl with unfinished ends from a fair price shop dedicated to rural weavers of India. I hand rolled and hand knotted the fringes on both short ends of this shawl to make colorful fringes. Fringes not only add a great detail to this beautiful shawl but also prevent loose threads from coming out from edges . A riot of colors has been used in this stole so that it can be worn with almost any outfit.

Process of Creation =
1. One red and one beige piece of pure wool fabric is taken. Each piece of fabric is hand woven so is light and airy.
2. Both pieces are hand stitched on long ends to make double layered shawl.
3. Shawl is then hand embroidered with beige side being the front of the shawl and red being reverse side. Embroidery is done very neatly so that this shawl could be worn with red side outside as well.
5. Then I took red and beige loose threads on short ends of the shawl and hand rolled and knotted them. This creates a beautiful bi-colored fringe on both short ends of the shawl.
